About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at oilandgas. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of building surveying and project management duties across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Work across multiple projects in different sectors, managing and providing a range of building surveying and project management duties.
  2. Business Development: Assist with the development of new and repeat business across all sectors where possible.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Manage the client relationship and service delivery on a project-by-project basis.
  4. Support to Senior Managers: Support the senior managers in the day-to-day running of the business, including project management and contract administration duties for larger projects, condition and measured surveys, designing and implementing small to medium-sized projects, due diligence surveys, and framework management.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry issues and developments in best practice, including the use and application of standard forms of building contracts, such as JCT and NEC.
  6. Team Management: Manage teams and deliver commissions under framework agreements.
  7. Industry Experience: Have experience in sectors that include education, local authorities, healthcare, central government, and infrastructure projects.
  8. Defect Analysis: Conduct defect analysis, undertake building surveys, and produce professional reports and specifications.
  9. Quality, Safety, and Environment: Understand the principles of quality, safety, and the environment within the management of projects.
  10. Pre- and Post-Contract Project Management: Deliver both pre- and post-contract project management services.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: BSc (Hon's) Building Surveying RICS Accredited degree, or equivalent qualification.
  2. Professional Membership: Full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  3. Surveying Experience: Ability to demonstrate good all-round surveying experience.
  4. Project Management Experience: Experience of both pre- and post-contract project management responsibilities, and be able to deliver this service effectively to clients.
  5. Communication Skills: Good team working skills and ability to communicate well at all levels.
  6. Travel: Prepared to travel as required.
  7. Collaboration: Liaise with senior colleagues to help build a profitable service and positive, high-performing team environment.
  8. Technical Skills: Experience of AutoCAD, and Revit would be an advantage.
  9. BIM Systems: An awareness of BIM systems.
  10. Mentoring: Mentoring of APC graduates.
  11. Health and Safety: Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
