About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Lead to join our Finance and Commercial Directorate at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). This position is a new role based in the Finance Department and reporting to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the College's Annual Budget-Setting Process: Develop and implement a comprehensive budgeting strategy to ensure accurate financial planning and forecasting.
  • Provide Long-Term Financial Planning Support: Offer strategic financial guidance to senior leadership to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Oversee Monthly Management Accounts: Ensure timely and accurate production of financial reports to inform business performance and decision-making.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Relationships: Foster effective partnerships with budget managers and senior leaders to provide expert financial advice and support.
  • Lead and Develop a Team of Finance Business Partners: Manage, motivate, and develop a team of finance professionals to deliver high-quality financial planning and analysis services.
About You

We are looking for a qualified accountant with expertise in financial planning, management reporting, and leadership within a finance function. Your ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders, combined with your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, will be key to your success in this role.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant: Hold a recognized accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
  • Financial Planning and Analysis Expertise: Demonstrate practical knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven capability in leading and managing a finance team.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial software packages.
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
