About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client's regional build team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Quantity Surveyors in various tasks, including reviewing and analyzing procurement and construction budgets, monitoring site progress, and reporting cost implications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing procurement and construction budgets
  • Monitor site progress and report any cost implications
  • Assist in producing monthly valuations
  • Provide accurate support for costing and preparation of budgets
  • Assist in variations and instructions
  • Assist in budget control throughout development
  • Take off quantities from drawings for procurement and pricing variations
  • Cost and invoice for client variations, as well as track client extras spreadsheet
  • Prepare monthly progress valuations
  • Review main contract and subcontract preparation
  • Attend design team meetings and identify value engineering opportunities
  • Execute payments to subcontractors in line with contractual requirements
Requirements
  • Previous experience working for an established property developer, main contractor, or subcontractor in the capacity of Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar
  • HNC or Degree qualified or qualified by experience
  • Knowledge of tendering and procurement
  • Some knowledge of contract administration and different forms of contract
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, as well as payment software systems
