Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Equities Trading System Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank PLC. As a key member of our technology infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Equities exchange connectivity, Algo and SOR systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to resolve complex issues related to Equities exchange connectivity, Algo and SOR systems.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software, and utilize monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self-service opportunities and knowledge sharing.
  • Issue Resolution: Analyze system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues, and provide a resolution to these issues.
  • Automation and Monitoring: Automate support activities, implement monitoring enhancements, and ensure optimal performance of systems.
  • Risk Management: Identify and remediate potential service impacting risks and issues, and proactively assess support activities to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
Requirements
  • Equities Background: Strong understanding of Equities trading and market infrastructure.
  • Algo Platform Experience: Experience working on Algo platforms as a trading system engineer.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Linux, Python scripting, and scheduling tools.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data and solve problems creatively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
