Power Conversion Project Engineer

At EES Solutions, we are at the forefront of pioneering engineering solutions spanning across diverse sectors like Rail, Automotive, Marine, and Energy. In this specific contract position, you'll be working hand-in-hand with our dedicated automotive clientele. Due to the nature of the role, we will only be able to consider candidates with direct Automotive work experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support our Customer's existing engineering quality resource by driving an increased throughput of automotive projects through to robust resolution.
  • Take ownership of issues related to HV and 48V power conversion systems, including DCDC Inverters and Belt Integrated Starter Generators (B-ISG).
  • Conduct data-gathering activities to understand possible contributing factors and root causes.
  • Build a detailed understanding of the full power conversion system functionality.
  • Report transparently on quality issue status and recommend improvements to engineering standards for current and future power components/systems.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as Catia V5/V6 (for specific roles) plus vis-mockup/digibuck.
  • Agile delivery process experience, including Scrum approach and Jira toolset.
  • Requirements capture/updates, DVP & component testing.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Appropriate response time to field quality issues resolution.
  • Resolution of priority quality issues and reduction in recurring issue types.
  • Robust progression of quality projects through relevant systems.

We are actively seeking experienced Automotive Project Engineers in the following disciplines:

Each project will be progressed using a defined problem-solving methodology, predominantly the 8D process, from problem definition through to engineering release. Our Customer has existing quality improvement teams in each of the engineering specialisms (body, chassis, powertrain, electrical, and power conversion). The Power Conversion Project Engineer will take ownership of issues related to HV and 48V power conversion systems, including DCDC Inverters and Belt Integrated Starter Generators (B-ISG). You will focus on diagnostics, testing, and writing test scripts to excite failure modes and support problem resolution.

It would be an asset if you also have experience in:

  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as Catia V5/V6 (for specific roles) plus vis-mockup/digibuck.
  • Agile delivery process experience, including Scrum approach and Jira toolset.
