Job Title: SHE Manager

Job Summary:

United Living Group is seeking an experienced SHE Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for supporting projects in the delivery of our Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental input into the tender and contract award process.
  2. Conduct travel across England, Scotland, and Wales to provide operational teams and SHE advisors with advice and guidance.
  3. Act as a single point of contact for advice and expertise on Health & Safety matters to project teams.
  4. Lead the preparation of accident/incident investigations and communicate learning points to prevent re-occurrence.
  5. Challenge existing working methods to incorporate Health, Safety, and Environmental good practice during design and construction phases.
  6. Contribute to a safe and secure culture through behavior-based coaching at all levels within the project.
  7. Liaise with the wider construction industry to ensure lessons are shared and implemented.
  8. Coordinate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders, the HSE, Local Authorities, Environmental Agency, and SEPA.
  9. Have an in-depth knowledge and provide expert advice on CDM regulation requirements for gas projects.
  10. Provide support and guidance to ensure project representatives are aware of their SHE roles and responsibilities.
  11. Undertake reviews of documentation, participate in site safety meetings, H&S Audits, and Sensible Monitoring Inspections on gas projects.
  12. Provide independent H&S audit capability to delivery teams for a portfolio of projects.
  13. Ensure suitable controls and processes are in place for the development and ongoing management of the CDM Risk Register.

Requirements:

  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety and/or considerable relevant Gas & Water industry experience.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry - Gas, Rail, Power Overhead lines.
  • CMIOSH or working towards.
  • Membership of a safety or environmental professional body or engineering institute to incorporated or chartered level.
  • Current full UK driving license.
