Deputy Store Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Store Manager to join our team at Pets at Home Group Plc. As a Deputy Store Manager, you will play a vital role in the success of our store, working closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, including stock control, recruitment, and store standards.
  • Take full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Lead from the front with a hands-on approach, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer service and maximize sales and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve store performance, working closely with the Store Manager and other members of the management team.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring that all colleagues are equipped to provide excellent customer service and meet the needs of our customers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year's management experience in a retail environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high standards and great results, with a passion for retail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and sales.
