Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in leading estimates for civil engineering works and collaborating with our tender teams.

About the Role

  • Lead a team of estimators for larger tenders, monitoring and developing junior estimators to ensure high-quality estimates are delivered.
  • Identify opportunities and risks during the tender process, providing expert analysis and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Present the basis of estimate and key assumptions to stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Prepare handovers to site teams at contract award, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing delays.
  • Develop a tender win strategy alongside our business unit teams, leveraging your expertise to drive success.
  • Liaise with our business unit, Bid Manager, and Planner to agree methodology and principles, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the water and civils sectors, with a strong track record of working on tenders ranging up to £50 million.
  • Chartered, incorporated status or similar, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Ability to ensure all tender submissions are both feasible and profitable, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
  • Confidence in dealing with customers and personnel at a senior level, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
