Role Overview: We are seeking a Procurement Category Lead to oversee a complex area of expenditure within our UK Indirect Procurement team, focusing on CAPEX and Operations. This position offers a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies for critical spending areas in alignment with Business Units and Group Service functions.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and compliance regulations.
  • Support the launch of new products within Business Units, engaging in strategic initiatives.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships by creating and presenting insightful recommendations.
  • Deliver key updates and insights to stakeholders, utilizing data analysis and market intelligence for informed decision-making.

Supplier Management:

We require significant expertise in procurement, particularly in Utilities or other data-intensive categories. Experience in food products, FMCG, or similar operational procurement is essential.

Continuous Improvement:

Conduct ongoing reviews to enhance efficiency within the function and business units, establishing clear action plans with defined responsibilities and timelines.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement.
  • Specialized knowledge in categories such as energy, utilities, chemicals, waste management, and packaging recycling is advantageous.
  • Strong data interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient project management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead and participate in project teams as necessary.
  • Advanced project management skills are preferred.
