Science Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Science Technician to join our team at GSL Education. As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Science Department by preparing materials, resources, and equipment for science lessons.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Maintenance: Conduct risk assessments, set up apparatus and equipment, ensure timely availability of resources, and replenish and store equipment safely.
- Supporting Teachers: Assist with equipment trials, provide safety advice, and communicate with other technicians to resolve equipment clashes.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratories and preparation rooms, clean and maintain equipment, and conduct safety checks.
- Education to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office Applications.
- NVQ Laboratory Technician or equivalent SLC qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar setting, such as a preparation room.
Note: Previous experience as a science technician is not essential, but familiarity with working in a preparation room or similar environment would be advantageous.
