Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop geotechnical solutions for various projects, including ground improvement, foundation design, and retaining structure design.
  2. Collaborate with structural engineers to achieve cost-effective foundation solutions based on site-specific ground conditions.
  3. Conduct site assessments to identify potential ground-related issues, such as contaminants or heave.
  4. Prepare detailed calculations, reports, and drawings to support design decisions.
  5. Develop site investigation briefs to meet design requirements and assist in appointing and carrying out site investigations.
  6. Visit sites as required to ensure projects are progressing according to plan.
  7. Support senior engineers in their roles and contribute to the growth and development of the geotechnical department.
Person Specification:
  1. At least 18 months of experience in geotechnical design, or a recent graduate with a passion for geotechnics.
  2. Degree or higher in Geotechnics or a related field.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  4. Strong technical writing and numerical modeling skills.
  5. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Proficiency in IT, particularly in Excel.
  9. Confident and dynamic individual with a desire for continuous learning and improvement.
  10. Full driving license (UK).
