Main Responsibilities

As a key member of the HR team, you will contribute to the delivery of the Service's People Strategy by supporting the design, delivery, and promotion of ED&I focused Positive Action strategies. Your role will involve working with external partners to develop cross-working initiatives that increase interest and applications from underrepresented groups.

Key Tasks
  1. Design and deliver Positive Action initiatives, programmes, and events for recruitment, onboarding, retention, and progression within the Service.
  2. Research and develop an organisational Positive Action Plan, and assist with the preparation of the annual Workforce Plan and Annual Equality Report & Pay Gap reports.
  3. Identify and work with external partners to develop cross-working initiatives that increase interest and applications from underrepresented groups.
  4. Create processes that advance opportunities for underrepresented staff and embed them as business as usual.
  5. Identify data trends, analyse, interpret, maintain, and present diversity and equality data.
  6. Ensure effective coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders to enable positive action and engagement initiatives.
  7. Plan, organise, coordinate, and deliver positive action events.
  8. Develop and deliver training and awareness sessions to internal staff to support the delivery of positive action and community engagement initiatives.
  9. Engage with communities and individuals to raise awareness of roles within the Service to underrepresented groups.
  10. Work with colleagues across the business to maintain a coordinated approach to supporting recruitment activities.
  11. Collaborate with Corporate Communications to create innovative promotional materials.
  12. Attend job fairs, community events, and hold/deliver Positive Action events to raise awareness of the Service with underrepresented groups.
  13. Liaise with Schools and Colleges to engage with young people to promote the Service and available roles.
  14. Prepare reports and present data on Positive Action / Community Engagement activities as required.
  15. Attend internal/external meetings as required and undertake partnership working to assist in delivery of post objectives.
  16. Establish and maintain links with internal employee network groups, trade unions, and external agencies at an operational level.
  17. Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  18. Undertake any other reasonable duty, commensurate with the grading and responsibility of the post, across the Service to meet Service priorities and business continuity requirements.
