Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team in the North East. Our client is a well-established and highly profitable business with a strong focus on innovation and product development.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with experience in designing moving parts and mechanisms. They will also have a proven track record of taking design projects from concept to manufacture, with a focus on innovation and creativity.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in modern 3D CAD packages and have a strong understanding of electro-mechanical products. They will also have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly created team within R&D/Engineering, with the potential for career progression into chief engineer or management roles. The salary band for this role is £50k to £70k basic range, plus an excellent benefits package.

Key responsibilities of the Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

  • Designing and developing electro-mechanical products from concept to manufacture
  • Working closely with the R&D team to develop new products and technologies
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers
