Job Title: Reclamation Engineering Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Reclamation Engineering Operator to join our team at Excelitas Technologies. As a key member of our STAS Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough visual inspections and functional tests on received equipment and spares, recording findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to reclaim and minimize waste, reviewing and implementing process improvements to reduce costs and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve customer inquiries and deliver high-quality results.
  • Perform dimensional inspections and compile written reports on product characteristics, ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and waste reduction, driving continuous growth and improvement.
  • Ensure all stock is stored, handled, and transported securely, adhering to company, MoD security, ITAR disciplines, and health and safety legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, ensuring compliance with company and legislative standards.
  • Comply with all ISO and Health and Safety legislation, taking reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others, and reporting any incidents or suggestions.
  • Be willing to work overtime to meet business and customer needs when required.

Personal Specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • A good level of general education (minimum of C grade or above in Maths and English at GCSE level).
  • Excellent organizational and methodical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • An inquisitive nature, willing to challenge processes and procedures to improve cost reduction and waste.
  • General knowledge and use of computers and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with a range of people.
  • Experience of working in a team and working independently.
  • Ability to obtain full SC Clearance.

Desirable Attributes:

  • An understanding of MOD Dismounted Soldier Systems.
  • A technical background with strong analytical skills and practical ability.
  • The ability to work within dynamic project teams and using structured problem solving techniques.
  • The ability to liaise with other engineering disciplines on product specifications and performance matters.
