Music Coordinator with Teaching Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music Coordinator with Teaching Responsibilities to join our team at Ruskin Mill Trust. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering music sessions to students with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver music sessions to individuals or small groups of students, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and learning requirements.
- Encourage students to develop their musical skills, preparing and performing pieces at festivals and school performances.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of students' learning needs, making adjustments as necessary to minimize barriers to learning and achievement.
- Work creatively with various musical styles and acoustic instruments to meet the diverse needs of our students.
- Model positive behaviors and attitudes, supporting students in their personal growth and development.
- Collaborate with teachers and teaching assistants to deliver music in the classroom, promoting cross-disciplinary learning.
- Prepare music for seasonal festivals and performances, supervising rehearsals with students and staff.
- Lead professional development sessions to enhance staff confidence and skills in singing and teaching music fundamentals.
- Maintain the instrument collection and organize the music room.
- Recent graduates from music training programs, including music therapy and world music, are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities and complex needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
