Director, Volunteer and Alumni Programs

Philadelphia Futures is seeking a dedicated professional to lead our volunteer and alumni engagement efforts. As Director, Volunteer and Alumni Programs, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy to recruit, equip, mobilize, and engage a diverse volunteer base, while also cultivating meaningful relationships with alumni.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recruitment and engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with our anti-racist commitments.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess organizational needs and inform recruitment efforts.
  • Lead the development of relationships with professional, organizational, community, and civic groups to identify potential volunteer pools.
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement with external stakeholders, including alumni.
  • Support the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with PF alumni, engaging them in meaningful volunteer opportunities and leveraging their talent and resources for cross-organizational programming.
  • Collaborate with the Events Manager to execute volunteer and alumni engagement opportunities.
  • Manage the execution of volunteer information sessions and interviews, as well as the preparation of necessary advertising, recruiting, and training materials.
  • Conduct and analyze results of ongoing data collection of volunteers, including regular surveys to improve programming.
  • Oversee the volunteer application process, including document management for background checks and other necessary clearances.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in volunteer management, constituent engagement, or a related field.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong public speaking abilities.
  • Willingness to be responsive to volunteers' concerns and use an asset-based lens when engaging volunteers in our work.
  • Ability to build inspired relationships with volunteers and alumni.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.

This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive compensation and benefits package based on experience. Salary range is mid 50s to low 60s. The Director, Volunteer and Alumni Programs, reports to the Director of Outreach and Engagement. Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
