Special Educational Needs Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to a specific student with special educational needs or those who require additional guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to develop a comprehensive understanding of the student's needs and create a personalized learning plan.
- Implement and adapt educational strategies to support the student's individual learning requirements, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons, fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with the student, promoting their well-being and engagement.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies tailored to the student's needs, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system, promoting the student's overall well-being.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
- Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team, contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
