Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Engineer to join our team at White & Clayton Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering safe and efficient frontline reactive maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules, ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure effective handover of information across shifts, promoting seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize our Predictive Maintenance System (PMS) to support prioritization and problem-solving, diagnosing faults and testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Recognize and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure, providing CMMS data to inform maintenance decisions.
  • Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to obtain technical support and expedite parts when necessary.
  • Lead shift-based problem-solving efforts, implementing corrective actions and ensuring effective resolution.
  • Work closely with other site functions to deliver exceptional service and achieve our Reliability, Fitness, and Effectiveness (RFT) agenda on a daily basis.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes with the support of your line manager.
  • Recognize and address life cycle issues, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Apply and support simple 5WHY and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques to achieve long-term fixes.
  • Support departmental programs for workshops and stores workplace management.
  • Continuously transfer knowledge and best practices within the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience with engineering-based operational efficiency programs.
  • A similar role supporting site strategy for Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and Engineering.
  • Supporting improvement activities and events within facilities and engineering-owned areas.
  • Delivering on-the-job training to new colleagues, focusing on Health and Safety.
  • NVQ Level 3 Qualification – Mechanical and/or Electrical Bias, with 'Train the Trainer' training.
  • Ability to generate and implement innovative ideas to improve business performance.
  • Relevant Health and Safety modules, escalation procedures, and SSOW document awareness.
  • Engineering Quality Induction.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to provide on-the-job coaching and gain support from shift leaders.
