Senior Underwriter - Commercial Combined and Property Owners

STRIDE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LTD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join their established Commercial team. The ideal candidate will have experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined and Property Owners broker market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the profitable development of the Mid-Market Commercial Combined and Property Owners account by underwriting bespoke commercial risks.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a panel of Network brokers as their nominated underwriter.
  • Develop and support the commercial account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with brokers.
  • Prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team, optimising sales and retention.
  • Take ownership of large & complex cases and work proactively with the broker to negotiate the right outcome.
  • Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the commercial underwriting and broking market.
  • Be a strong referral point for your team, providing technical assistance and guidance to junior colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined and Property Owners broker market.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to negotiate and influence through use of effective trading skills.
  • Motivated, driven and adapts to change positively, displaying a can-do attitude.
  • Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • A team player, who is highly collaborative, empowering, and good at establishing and maintaining relationships with brokers and other internal stakeholders.
  • You should have a strong customer service ethos, continuously and proactively looking to improve the quality of service provided to all customers.
  • A confident decision maker who brings a strong and decisive approach to underwriting.
