Project Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Officer to join our team at Belmont Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of a range of Green Space and Grounds Maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver green space projects and events in accordance with project planning principles, procurement rules, health and safety regulations, and the Council's financial and contract standing orders.
  • Support the Green Spaces Manager in providing advice and guidance on green space matters to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Project manage the delivery of all capital projects from designing schemes, obtaining prices, applying for internal and external funding, to procuring services and project managing the delivery of schemes.
  • Manage and be accountable to funders, including the council and external funders, for capital budgets and other allocated resources to achieve the best outcome and value for money.
  • Prepare contract documents, manage the tendering process, and evaluate tenders for contracted services.
Requirements:
  • Project management experience within the public or private sector.
  • Experience in controlling capital and revenue budgets.
  • Full driving license and access to own transport during working hours.
  • Experience of working with local Councillors, community groups, and residents to design and deliver improved services and facilities.
  • Qualification at or equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Horticulture, or Landscape Management.
