We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Medical Oncology doctor with at least one year's NHS experience to join our Oncology Department at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This is a fixed-term position to cover a vacant post and maternity leave.

Main Responsibilities

This role would be ideal for someone looking to gain additional experience and broaden their CV with a view to applying for a training number in Clinical/Medical Oncology. We will provide a Clinical and an Educational Supervisor to support your development and address any specialist training needs you may have.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a busy teaching hospital offering a wide range of Medical and Clinical Oncology services. You will have the chance to gain significant experience in clinical trials and audits, and to develop your skills in a nationally renowned service.

Person Specification

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration and current licence to practice
  • Valid ALS certificate
  • Evidence of achievement of CMT1 and 2 competencies in medicine

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent
  • Evidence of clinical or research commitment and a relevant specialty interest

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job
  • At least one year's NHS experience
  • Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk
  • Shows aptitude for practical skills required in the job
  • Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings
