About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Sports Content Editor to join our team at the Evening Standard. As a key member of our sports department, you will be responsible for creating and maximizing the impact of our sports stories across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and edit sports content for our digital platforms.
  • Maximize audience engagement through SEO and social media strategies.
  • Commission stories, analysis, and comment from our reporting team.
  • Write your own stories and manage breaking news.
  • Run live blogs and match content.
  • Commission multimedia sports coverage, including video and audio.
Requirements
  • Experience in sports journalism and digital content creation.
  • Strong understanding of SEO and social media strategies.
  • Ability to manage breaking news and work under pressure.
  • Deep knowledge of London's football clubs and the wider sporting spectrum.
