Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Support Specialist to work within a specialized educational setting in the Grantham area. In this role, you will provide essential support to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that students remain engaged and focused during classroom activities. This position is full-time and expected to continue until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering tailored support to students on both an individual and group basis, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Observing and managing student behavior, while effectively addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Offering guidance and support to ensure the well-being of each student is prioritized.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in roles such as teaching assistant, learning support, or working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Dependability and consistency in providing support to students.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A nurturing and compassionate demeanor.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Possession of a valid DBS check.
