Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Watford, Hertfordshire. As a key member of our construction consultancy, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional results in construction projects.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for efficiently managing project budgets, administering tender processes, and leading procurement activities. You will also maintain strong client relationships, provide regular project updates, and collaborate with our team, clients, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project budgets and ensure cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
  • Administer tender processes and construction contracts, evaluating variations and negotiating settlements
  • Lead procurement activities, including tendering and contractor/subcontractor selection
  • Carry out early-stage cost plans and estimates or manage the delivery of detailed cost plans and bills
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates
  • Chair project meetings and report to key stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • RICS chartered status or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in quantity surveying in the UK
  • Sound knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement
  • Experience of contract administration and take-offs and measurement using industry-recognised software
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (Excel, CAD measurement software) with a willingness to learn new skills
