Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal Project, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and Dragados management systems.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee subcontract administration for the delivery of the works, including design, site setup, civils, marine works, and building and MEP works.
- Manage and administer multiple subcontracts (NEC4 Option A/C/E Subcontract) and design contracts (NEC4 PSC Contract Option A/C/E), ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Manage the monthly payment process for subcontracts, in accordance with contractual timescales.
- Coordinate with the package manager to manage the change management process under subcontracts, including drafting contractors' instructions and reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events.
- Manage the main designer contract, providing assistance to the design team on cost information.
- Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction stage estimate, in accordance with the latest design.
- Produce monthly cost and value reporting, including cash flow forecasts, and present to the senior management team.
- Register, notify, and evaluate early warning procedures events.
- Assist the Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
- Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction, and engineering departments.
- Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted program.
- Prepare contractual correspondence and respond to communications from the project manager.
- Manage quantity surveying and assistant Quantity surveyors during the construction stage of the project.
- Assist the commercial manager in educating the project team on the specific requirements of the NEC conditions of contract.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with NEC 3 or 4 contracts and administering NEC 3 or Subcontract (Option A/B/C/E).
- Experience working with a main contractor on large civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
- Analytical mind and logical problem-solving skills.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Committed to the ethos of an accountable, cost-effective, high-quality, customer-driven service delivery.
- High degree of commercial awareness.
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer.
- Holds a CSCS Card.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline.
- Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or working towards.
