About the Role

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Environmental Neighbourhood Safety Warden. As a key member of our community safety team, you will play a vital role in building confidence within our community and making a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the police and other agencies to identify and address environmental concerns and safety issues within the community.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, community groups, and local businesses to promote community safety and wellbeing.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks on isolated residents and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective community safety initiatives and strategies.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to community concerns and issues in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements

  • A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Knowledge of community safety and wellbeing principles and practices, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
