Financial Management Specialist
The finance department at the General Medical Council is undergoing a transformative phase with the implementation of a new financial system. To facilitate this transition, we are seeking additional expertise for a fixed-term role within our management accounting division.
As a key player in monitoring, reporting, and advising on financial outcomes, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of an organization dedicated to upholding UK medical standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering financial guidance and support to various directorates, which includes the preparation of the annual budget, monthly financial reports, comprehensive forecasts, and assistance with investment evaluations.
- Tracking financial performance by analyzing variances and trends, while assisting budget managers in adhering to financial plans.
- Collaborating with management to identify and implement business enhancements, including investment opportunities and cost-saving measures.
Work Arrangement
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring up to one day in the office alongside the finance team, with flexibility to accommodate initial training and necessary team engagements.
Candidate Profile
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role, as building relationships to support and influence budget managers is crucial.
- A proactive individual who can gather and synthesize information from various departments to produce clear financial analyses and recommendations for budget managers, ensuring optimal resource utilization in alignment with corporate objectives.
- A proven history in a management accounting role, with full membership in a recognized UK accounting body.
