About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Software Engineering to join our team at Initi8 Recruitment. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers and driving the technical strategy of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 30+ software engineers, including 4 lead developers, across multiple agile teams.
  • Work closely with other Heads of departments (QA, Product Management, Change, Business Analysis, Architecture) to ensure effective resource allocation and project delivery.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve team efficiency and maturity, while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to design and implement technical solutions, including architecture and infrastructure.
  • Drive technical innovation and improvement, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing culture, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
About You

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Software Engineering with a strong background in hands-on software engineering, preferably with experience in backend development. You should have a proven track record of delivering in agile environments and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
