Job Description

**Job Title:** Interim Legal Counsel - EMEA & APAC

**Job Summary:** Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced Employment/Labor attorney to serve as a key interim member of its global Legal department. The successful candidate will provide legal support to the company's operations in the EMEA and APAC regions, mainly the UK, EU, and Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Employment Law Support: Provide legal guidance to the company's operations in EMEA and APAC, including M&A, performance management, risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategy.
  2. HR Collaboration: Establish a cross-functional relationship with HR teams in EMEA and APAC to provide guidance on employee matters and offer employment risk management advice.
  3. Regulatory Monitoring: Research, monitor, analyze, and inform the Legal and HR team of changes in UK employment regulations, statutes, and guidance.
  4. Policy Development: Provide advice and work directly with Human Resources to develop and update employment policies.
  5. Compliance Enforcement: Enforce ERM's corporate governance and compliance policies.
  6. Claims Coordination: Coordinate with the Company's insurers and brokers on claims as appropriate.
  7. Other Legal Duties: Perform other legal duties as directed by the Chief Litigation & Employment Counsel.
Requirements:
  1. Be registered to practice law in the UK, with at least 5 years post-qualification legal experience.
  2. Have gained legal experience in an international law firm, preferably in the UK or the EU.
  3. Must possess a well-developed understanding of commercial, contract, and risk management issues.
  4. Proven experience delivering employment legal advice to support business needs.
  5. Maintain a creative and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  6. Be fluent in English, with fluency in another language desirable.
  7. Must be willing to travel, including possibly internationally, up to 20% of the time.
  8. Must have a suitable environment for working at home as needed.
