Vacancy: Process Optimization Specialist

Reporting to: Production Engineering Manager

Hours: 37.5 pw

Zotefoams is seeking a skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in eliminating waste, optimizing production processes, and introducing new products to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and eliminate waste in the production process through the use of lean manufacturing tools, root cause analysis, and logical problem-solving.
  • Utilize analytical techniques to identify trends in production processing parameter/material property data.
  • Develop and own production work instructions (SOPs & SPPs) to ensure production processes are safe and efficient with optimum product quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from ideation to delivery, with robust stakeholder, timing, and cost management.
  • Conduct risk assessments on new processes and equipment by liaising with the OHSE department to appropriately identify and control hazards and risks.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in material science or a related subject (Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, etc.).
  • Polymer processing knowledge, e.g., extrusion, injection molding, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of statistical analysis software, e.g., Minitab, JMP, NWA Quality Analyst, etc., MS Office, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of simulation software packages desirable (MATLAB, Sci-lab, etc.).
