Main Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in delivering specialist mental health interventions. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with service users, carers, and other agencies to provide evidence-based, recovery-focused interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a defined caseload of service users with complex mental health needs
  • Providing specialist mental health assessment and treatment, including individual and group work
  • Acting as shift lead and coordinating service delivery, prioritizing workload, and providing clinical advice to junior staff
  • Contributing to the development of training programs for junior staff and mentoring students
  • Participating in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience of working with adults with severe and enduring mental illness
  • Minimum 12-months experience in a community mental health setting or clear evidence of how you can fulfill the functions of a community mental health practitioner
  • Experience at a senior level, including managerial experience, staff supervision, and operational issues
Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated evidence-based practice
  • Knowledge of CMHF/PCF and record-keeping
  • Understanding of NSF & MHA and NICE guidelines
  • Commitment to professional development and ability to educate others
  • Postgraduate specialist knowledge and/or experience in community mental health
