Time Commitment: Flexible days
We are seeking a volunteer to provide companionship and reading support to an individual at our service in Leatherhead. As a Reader Volunteer, you will spend time with the individual, engaging in conversation, and reading to them. This role requires a kind, empathetic, and patient individual who can build a strong relationship with the person we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and reading support to an individual at our service
- Engage in conversation and build a strong relationship with the person we support
- Be punctual and reliable in attending scheduled visits
- Respect confidentiality and data protection procedures
- Assist with sighted guide/orientation as needed
Requirements:
- Love to read and engage in conversation
- Good sense of humour and ability to be a good listener
- Punctual and reliable
- Kind, empathetic, and patient
- Ability to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
- Ability to assist with sighted guide/orientation as needed
