About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant at High Peak School. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher to promote positive behaviour and understanding of learning objectives, content, and intended outcomes for the learning activities in which students are involved.

About You:

We are looking for someone with experience of working within a SEN setting, a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop, and a commitment to making a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people.

You will be working with a delightful, friendly, and talkative Year 8 female pupil who has a diagnosis of autism and undergoing assessment for ADHD. She has a heightened state of anxiety that leads to traits of PDA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher to promote positive behaviour and understanding of learning objectives, content, and intended outcomes for the learning activities in which students are involved.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Work with the pupil to develop strategies to manage anxiety and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement individualised support plans.
