We are seeking a highly skilled Project Communications Manager to join our Federated Data Platform Programme Team at NHS Arden & GEM CSU. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing critical communications, ensuring efficient and high-quality responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, parliamentary questions, and public enquiries.
Key Responsibilities- FOI Management: Oversee the comprehensive management of FOI requests, including the application of relevant sections of the Act, redactions, and the drafting of detailed responses. Ensure all FOI responses are completed accurately and within statutory timelines, and develop standard operating procedures for handling FOI requests efficiently.
- Parliamentary Questions and Public Enquiries: Coordinate high-stakes responses to parliamentary questions and public enquiries, developing and implementing a robust process for gathering required information and ensuring responses are aligned with the strategic messaging of the FDP programme.
- Strategic Briefings and Presentations: Prepare and deliver comprehensive briefings and presentation materials for external stakeholder meetings, ensuring they effectively communicate complex programme details and support decision-making processes. Collaborate with senior leadership to refine messaging and ensure alignment with programme objectives.
- Event Planning and Execution: Organise, plan, and manage high-profile NHS events, including workshops, briefings, and panel discussions. Ensure these events align with the strategic goals of the FDP programme and enhance stakeholder engagement. This includes coordinating speaker notes, presentation materials, and logistical arrangements.
- Knowledge Base Management: Continuously update and expand the FAQ knowledge base to ensure it remains a relevant and valuable resource for internal and external stakeholders. Implement feedback mechanisms to capture new queries and refine content based on user needs.
- Leadership and Support: Act as a key advisor and support to the PMO Lead and Assistant Director, stepping in to deputise as needed. Offer guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes high performance and continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all communications and events management activities are conducted in line with NHS best practices and legal requirements. Engage with legal and compliance teams to ensure all outputs are reviewed and meet the necessary standards.
We are looking for someone with solid experience in managing communications and events, especially in the public sector or healthcare. You should have a strong track record in handling Freedom of Information requests, Parliamentary Questions, and preparing briefings. You understand the importance of clear communication and ensuring everything aligns with our programme's goals. Your skills in organising events and supporting PMO functions are essential to the success of our Federated Data Platform Programme.
Requirements- A Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APMP) are a plus.
- Proven experience managing complex communications, including FOI requests and Parliamentary Questions, within the public sector or healthcare.
- Strong event management skills and experience supporting PMO functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with office tools and virtual event platforms.
- Primarily remote, with occasional travel to NHS England offices in Waterloo, London.
- Salary: £58,972 - £68,525 per annum (AfC Band 8B).
- Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
