Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Expert to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our National Security & Defence team, you will play a critical role in developing software solutions that meet the complex needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop software solutions using the latest technologies and programming languages, including C++, Java, and Rust.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, including supervising, estimation, progress monitoring, and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that software solutions meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and security.
Requirements
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Rust.
  • Embedded Systems: Experience in coding for embedded systems.
  • Unit Testing: Experience in writing and conducting unit tests for code reliability.
  • Complex Solutions: Professional experience in the design and implementation of complex solutions, ideally both clean-slate projects and updates to legacy code bases.
  • Platform APIs: Comfortable with platform APIs, development environments, and native debugging approaches on one or more of the following: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.
  • Security: Experience of working on secure Government or MoD IT projects and programmes.
Education
  • Degree: A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
