We are seeking a Software Development Expert to join our National Security & Defence team. This role involves developing software and fixing bugs through a full development lifecycle, while also responding to customer queries and issues on multiple products.
- Designing technical solutions and providing software development of those solutions.
- Knowledge of the latest technologies and how they can be applied to complex problems – COTS and specialist hardware, software, security, and networking technologies.
- Providing technical leadership of engineering teams by supervising, estimation, progress monitoring and reporting.
- Adherence to project processes and software development practices.
Our Capability Development team develops bespoke software for our clients in the Cyber Security domain. We specialise in C and C++ and have worked across iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux. We emphasise having a comprehensive understanding of the programming languages, platforms, and tooling we rely on.
Essential:- C++, Java, Rust: Proficiency in one or more of these programming languages for both application and embedded code development.
- Proficiency in coding for embedded systems.
- Unit Testing: Experience in writing and conducting unit tests for code reliability.
- Professional experience in the design and implementation of complex solutions, ideally both clean-slate projects and updates to legacy code bases.
- Comfortable with platform APIs, development environments and native debugging approaches on one or more of: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.
- Commitment to code correctness and quality assurance through static analysis, code review, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Experience of working on secure Government or MoD IT projects and programmes.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree: A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
