About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our South Warwickshire Community Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will work with individuals with complex trauma and mental health presentations, and will have the opportunity to develop their assessment and therapy skills, as well as expand their experience of group-work, psychological consultation, staff training, and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat individuals with complex trauma and mental health presentations
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions, including Trauma-focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including Nurses, Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, and Social Care staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures
  • Participate in research and audit activities, including the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded SPS study at Imperial College London
Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with:

  • Doctoral level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
  • Current registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
  • Expertise and/or training in Clinical Supervision for doctorate level trainees
  • Assessed post-qualification experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, sufficient to have completed Band 7 preceptorship requirements
  • Experience of working with people and their carers in SCMH
  • Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity and maintenance of professionalism in challenging circumstances
