Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team at Serco. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all requested repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out to the required standard and within our Service Level Agreement (SLA) deadlines.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and all users of the property during and after works have been undertaken and completed. You will also be required to purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Conduct regular inspections of our properties to identify potential maintenance issues
  • Manage and maintain a safe and healthy working environment
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed to the required standard

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver's licence is essential)
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities management role
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to work on a rota basis
