About the Role:

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit personal and corporate tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, utilizing expertise in accounting principles and tax laws.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring timely submission.
  • Complete general bookkeeping duties, including data entry and reconciliation, to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Support senior team members in delivering exceptional accounting services to clients, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, communicating effectively and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Support junior members of the team, providing training and guidance to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements:

  • AAT/ACCA/ACA part-qualified or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a UK accountancy practice, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax laws.
  • Proficient in using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and MS Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
