Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Interim On-Site Role

£280-£300 per day

Inside IR35

Baltimore Consulting Limited is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide a specialist speech and language therapy service to schools within a local authority. The successful candidate will have a caseload of young people with specialist speech and language therapy treatment plans and will be responsible for assessing, developing, and reporting to the Principal Speech and Language Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, assess, diagnose, and deliver interventions for young people in special schools with a range of needs within language, speech, and communication.
  • Provide training, advice, and support to colleagues in areas of specialism such as ASD, Epilepsy, Speech, and Language.
  • Work directly with schools and settings through a range of interventions.
  • Work with families of young people, the local authority, and schools to offer advice, support, and explanations.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting and supervising trainee Speech and Language Therapists.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Experience working in maintained or independent special schools.
  • Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in education.
  • Understanding of current legislation and guidance in relation to SEN and educational inclusion.
  • Specialist understanding of young people with either Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Additional Educational Needs or Specific Speech and Language Impairment.
