Position Overview:

The prestigious XLZD consortium is pioneering a state-of-the-art rare event observatory utilizing advanced liquid xenon technology. This groundbreaking experiment aims to investigate electro-weak-scale particle dark matter while achieving exceptional sensitivity to other rare physical phenomena, including neutrinoless double-beta decay and interactions involving astrophysical neutrinos. Our team, leveraging expertise from the renowned LZ detector, plays a pivotal role in the Outer Detector for the UK XLZD initiative, which is set to advance the experiment at a leading underground laboratory.

This role encompasses vital simulation and design tasks alongside hands-on hardware and prototyping activities. You will become part of a dynamic and expanding dark matter research group comprising two academics, three postdoctoral research associates, and four doctoral candidates.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Possession, or imminent completion, of a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics
