About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in the Pharmacy Production and Haematology department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to patients with haematological conditions, working closely with the Pharmacy Production Unit and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and clinical verification of all SACT prescriptions according to approved chemotherapy regimens and local and national standards.
  • Work closely with the Pharmacy Production Unit to ensure the safe and efficient preparation and release of high-risk injectable or infusional products.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve safe medicines use across the Trust.
  • Act as a clinical role model for junior pharmacists within the team.
  • Provide professional support to the Production Management team, responsible for all aspects of the services within this aseptic preparation unit.
  • Liaise with Quality Control over all aspects of quality assurance to ensure that production activities comply with nationally applicable good manufacturing practice standards and local policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and/or contribute to relevant clinical and other audits to facilitate clinical governance requirements.
Person Specification
  • B.Pharm / Bsc (Pharmacy) / MPharm
  • Post graduate qualification to at least diploma level
  • Experience of technical support services
  • Evidence of further education related to Pharmaceutical Technology and / or Quality Assurance
  • Leadership and/or management qualifications
  • Plays an active role in a relevant national network / specialist pharmacist group
