Position Overview
We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the operational elements of manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) support activities within the Renishaw Group. This role entails managing the Manufacturing NPI functional teams to develop Manufacturing Strategies and conduct Gate Reviews as part of the New Product Development Process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate the Manufacturing NPI teams in providing input for new product development within the Product Innovation Process.
- Coordinate the diverse activities of various manufacturing professionals and teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery to the divisional product development teams.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Manufacturing activity plans and documentation, ensuring adherence to processes and best practices.
- Formulate product manufacturing strategies that align with the broader Manufacturing strategy, identifying risk areas and proposing effective mitigations.
- Manage Gate Review responses, ensuring thorough input from functional areas and advising Project Teams on readiness.
- Provide regular updates on Manufacturing project input status, risks, and mitigations, utilizing written reports, discussions, and presentations.
- Oversee the review of seconded resource requirements, identifying actions and mitigations in collaboration with divisional and Manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of personal discipline and motivation, taking ownership of project success. A passion for learning and developing both personal skills and those of the project teams is essential. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable to meet the dynamic needs of project environments, with a strong drive to meet deadlines and achieve objectives. Excellent communication skills in both technical and business contexts are crucial, along with the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management.
- A degree (2:1 or above) in a STEM discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient IT skills.
- A motivated and engaged individual with enthusiasm for the role.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career within a leading engineering firm focused on high-tech, complex products and processes.
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture/Assembly principles.
- Experience in manufacturing operations and processes.
- Background in a New Product Introduction environment.
