Senior Data Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Specialist to join our team at Rockstar Games. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and informing strategic initiatives through data-driven insights.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering data analytics solutions to address critical business questions. You will leverage machine learning and advanced analytical techniques to provide high-quality insights and in-depth analyses that inform strategic initiatives and design intentions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analytics: Design, develop, and deliver data analytics solutions to address critical business questions, leveraging machine learning and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Insight Generation: Provide high-quality insights and in-depth analyses to inform strategic initiatives and design intentions.
  • Storytelling: Tell impactful stories with data through insightful, actionable reports and presentations.
  • Gameplay Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of gameplay flows and leverage this to inform analysis of game data.
  • Project Leadership: Identify and lead analytic value-add projects and experiments aligned with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Proactive Analysis: Conduct proactive in-depth analysis and predictive modelling to uncover hidden opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Partner with data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to better understand requirements, find bottlenecks, and implement resolutions.
  • Mentorship: Help mentor and develop the skillsets of junior team members.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in a data science or equivalent role.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, with a strong quantitative background.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in writing production-stable code, pushing models and data pipelines to production, and iterating on models in production.
Desirable Skills
  • Data Storytelling: Excellent data storytelling and visualization skills, able to effectively communicate insights to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Data Mining, Clustering, and Classification.
  • Programming: Experience using Python for machine learning/statistical analysis.
  • SQL: Excellent SQL skills.
  • Business Intelligence: Experience building dashboards using a BI platform, ideally Tableau.
  • Passion for Games: Passion for Rockstar Games and our titles.
