An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health Care Assistant to join the Health Protection Service (HPS) team in North Wales. The HPS will work in partnership to respond to health protection measures and threats as required, and the post holder will work either at their designated work base or as part of an agile, patient-facing, outreach team at any location within North Wales.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will work as part of the Health Protection Service, either at their designated work base or as part of an agile, patient-facing, outreach team at any location within North Wales. They will work under the direction and support of a Registered Nurse, following the Health Board's protocols, policies, procedures, pathways, clinical governance requirements, and care plans.
The role will also require the post holder to:
- Ensure effective communication with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams, and the wider health and social care community.
- Practice in accordance with Health Board standards, statutory requirements, operate within the boundaries of the role, and assessed competencies.
- Use personal effectiveness and knowledge to contribute to the development and delivery of a quality service.
- Work proactively as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-professional healthcare team, in support of registered practitioners.
- Manage a small defined caseload of patients under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Work within current national and local guidelines for Infectious Disease, ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is used at all times, and correct donning and doffing advice is adhered to at all times.
