Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Clean and Green North team. This is a full-time temporary position offering competitive pay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute horticultural and street cleansing tasks under the guidance of experienced supervisors.
  • Operate various grounds maintenance equipment, including ride-on mowers, hand grass cutters, strimmers, and blowers.
  • Assist with planting, shrub, rose, and flower bed maintenance, including weeding, edging, and general tidying.
  • Support arboriculture work by loading timber, transporting branches to chippers, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Contribute to hard landscaping projects by lifting/carrying materials, hand digging, and performing general labouring duties.
  • Carry out litter picking and fly-tip collection tasks.
  • Maintain footpaths by edging and ensuring the overall site is tidy upon completion of work.
  • Adhere to all relevant risk assessments and prioritize safety for yourself and others. Report any concerns to your supervisor.
  • Respond to basic inquiries from the public while on-site, referring complex matters to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept in safe condition and report any defects to the designated workshop.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to health and safety.
  • Operate machinery safely, perform daily maintenance checks, and be responsible for its security.

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Requirements
  • Valid right to work documentation.
  • Two years of written references.
  • Clean driving license suitable for operating vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
