Job Summary:

We are seeking part-time adjunct teaching faculty to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Phlebotomy Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching and mentoring students in the field of phlebotomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach phlebotomy courses to students, providing instruction and guidance on laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the healthcare industry.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in phlebotomy education.

Requirements:

  • Phlebotomy certification with demonstrated competency in teaching the field.
  • Two years of related occupational experience in phlebotomy or a related field.
  • Associate's degree in Clinical Medical Assistant, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related Health Science degree.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology applications, such as the Canvas learning management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience teaching phlebotomy courses.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and procedures.
