Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of projects, including railways, underground schemes, education projects, commercial offices, and civic buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare calculations in Hevacomp/Openbuildings (or similar) and produce designs without assistance.
  • Carry out surveys, prepare reports/specifications, and communicate effectively to clients.
  • Work on multiple concurrent projects at once, undertaking surveys and condition reports, and preparing feasibility studies and cost plans.
  • Prepare mechanical designs (detailed design) and prepare tender documents, attending design, client, and site meetings.
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of staff and CAD team, and act as Contract administrator on mechanical lead projects.
  • Work as part of a team in multidisciplinary jobs.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role with similar projects.
  • A complete understanding of British Regulations and standards.
  • Chartership advantageous.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Experience with Hevacomp and Openbuildings.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam and NBS would be desirable but not essential.
Remuneration:
  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000.
  • Working hours: 9am - 5:30pm.
  • Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH.
  • Pension.
  • Expenses to site covered.

  • Progression up to Associate/Director positions.
