Job Overview
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust Estates Department is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to enhance our team and contribute to a variety of scheduled maintenance tasks.
In this role, you will be integral to the Estates Department, ensuring that our Facilities, Equipment, and Infrastructure maintain a secure environment for Patients, Staff, and Visitors.
A strong emphasis on exceptional customer service, effective communication, and adaptability is essential as you perform tasks that support the Trust's Clinical services and patient care.
This position is full-time, with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing repairs, minor installations, and maintenance tasks across a diverse range of Equipment, Services, Facilities, and Infrastructure.
The role includes ensuring that all documentation and reports are completed in accordance with the Department's Workforce Planning Portfolios and Quality management systems.
Adherence to Safe Systems of Work as mandated by the Estates Department, along with compliance with Statutory Regulations such as Health & Safety and COSHH, is required.

Job Duties
- Utilize appropriate tools and testing equipment.
- Support maintenance craftsmen and technicians as needed.
- Use Estates documentation to ensure efficient and economical procurement of materials from Estates Stores.
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and all relevant legislation during all tasks. Safety PPE equipment is provided and must be utilized as required.
- Operate within the evolving ISO9001:2000 Quality System framework.
- Ensure that checklists and advice notes are followed to meet ISO9001:2000 requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Replace defective light bulbs and clean light fittings.
- Maintain cleanliness in ventilation plants and other internal areas.
- Conduct inspections and clean mechanical and electrical systems as per guidelines.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as releasing trapped passengers in lifts.
- Transport goods and personnel as necessary using Trust vehicles.
- Work in patient areas and utilize safety equipment when required.
