Technical Services Manager - Fire Safety

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Manager to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our Fire Safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our property assets are technically and commercially sound, and that we maintain a best-in-class fire safety management strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a proactive fire safety management strategy to ensure compliance with relevant fire safety standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in M&E and Fire asset maintenance and investment principles.
  • Support property projects, including assistance with the procurement of professional services, construction, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Liaise with departmental representatives to support all relocations and management of relocation services.
  • Provide reports and ensure property-related data is appropriately maintained in systems.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators of third-party contractors to ensure compliance with fire safety requirements.
  • Undertake effective investigations of fire incidents to identify underlying root causes and ensure findings are fed into the overall fire safety management strategy.
  • Horizon scan to ensure the business is aware of and informed of any upcoming changes to legislation or guidance that will impact fire safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in building services and fire safety.
  • Practical knowledge of fire safety engineering and ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Fully conversant with current fire safety legislation and technical standards.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent.
  • Third-party certification in fire risk assessments.
